Diamondbacks | Ian Kennedy does not want to be shut down

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Ian Kennedy isn't happy with the thoughts that the team should shut him down for the rest of the season so that the club can audition another young starter in the rotation for next season. "Is that a joke?" Kennedy said when asked about the possibility. "If that was the case, I feel like there are a lot of guys that could just mail it in - you know, just say, 'I don't have it this year, I'll see you guys next year.' That wouldn't work. Part of our job is we have to go out there even when we fail." His velocity has been down at times, but he insists he is physically fine.
