Red Sox | Jose Iglesias to see time

Boston Red Sox SS Jose Iglesias will see his fair share of playing time in the final month of the season with the team dropping out of playoff contention. However, the team isn't abandoning SS Mike Aviles. "His performance has ticked up in the last few weeks or so, but we've seen a better approach consistently all year," general manager Ben Cherington said. "He's looking for his pitch and driving it a little bit more. Even when they aren't extra-base hits, he's just hitting the ball hard and getting on base more. Very good step. Good overall year for him." Iglesias' glove isn't in question, it's just a matter of if he can impress the team enough with his stick before spring training next season.
