Buccaneers | Doug Martin has hold on starting RB job
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano indicated RB Doug Martin has overtaken RB LeGarrette Blount for the team's starting running back job. Martin moved into the starting lineup Friday, Aug. 24, and he won't be replaced any time soon. Schiano has been impressed with Martin's ability to play three downs. "That's why he moved in and started the game; because he has shown me that much," Schiano said. "And I don't think he did anything (Friday) night that would say, 'Oh, that wasn't a good move.' I thought he ran the ball well and did some things well. So right now, he's got to continue on that course. He's learning every day. And he's a very open-minded guy. He wants to learn."
Fantasy Tip: With Martin now expected to open the season as the starter, he should be regarded as a solid RB2 or flex option for owners.
