Blue Jays | Jose Bautista placed on DL
The Toronto Blue Jays have placed OF Jose Bautista (wrist) on the 15-day disabled list with a wrist injury. He is scheduled to meet with a hand specialist in Cleveland Sunday, Aug. 26.
Fantasy Tip: Depending on how Bautista heals this time around, he may only provide you with a week or two worth of production before the end of the season.
Moises Sierra will return to starting duty in the outfield. He's been productive in 16 games (.298 BA, two HRs, SB) and possesses the pop and speed to be relevant in deep mixed outfield arrangements. His unrefined approach at the dish and high K rate will bring his BA down eventually, though.
Adeiny Hechavarria is the Jays' answer to shortstop in the long term, but he has plenty of maturing to do. His glove is more valuable than his stick, and he doesn't pack any punch. He'll probably see some PT down the stretch in September, but he'll strictly be AL-only material.
