Chargers | Philip Rivers to sit out preseason game

San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner said QB Philip Rivers will sit out the third preseason game Friday, Aug. 24. Turner said QB Charlie Whitehurst is starting the game because he wants to see how he works with the starters.
