Indians | Ubaldo Jimenez surrendering homers often
Cleveland Indians SP Ubaldo Jimenez gave up two home runs in his last start Monday, Aug. 20, and he's surrendered a career-high 23 long balls in 143 1/3 innings this year. His previous high was 17 in 188 1/3 innings last season. Jimenez is giving up a rate of 1.4 homers per nine innings this year after his career rate before this season was 0.6 home runs per nine. Manager Manny Acta thinks the reason is that Jimenez is falling behind in the count more often.
