Diamondbacks | Joe Saunders placed on waivers

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed SP Joe Saunders on trade waivers Tuesday, Aug. 21, according to major league sources. SP Tyler Skaggs will make his major league debut against the Miami Marlins Wednesday, Aug. 22. Skaggs went 4-2 with a 2.91 ERA in nine starts with Triple-A Reno. Skaggs could stay in the rotation if Saunders is traded. Saunders is owed under $1.5 million for the rest of the year and will become a free agent after this year. The Baltimore Orioles have shown the most interest in Saunders.
