Bills | Shawne Merriman too far down depth chart

In addition to numerous injuries, free-agent DE Shawne Merriman (Bills) was just too far down the Buffalo Bills' depth chart to make much of an impact. The team spent more than $100 million in free agency on DEs Mario Williams and Mark Anderson. They also had a former starter in DE Chris Kelsay as the first player off the bench.
