Phillies | Nate Schierholtz hoping to return Aug. 28
Philadelphia Phillies OF Nate Schierholtz (toe) played catch with a metal plate inserted into his right sneaker Friday, Aug. 17. He did not dismiss the possibility of returning from the disabled list when he is eligible Aug. 28, although he is not expected to be at 100 percent until next year. Schierholtz will continue to wear the metal plate to keep the toe from flexing and has not yet resumed running.
