Padres | May hang onto Chase Headley

The San Diego Padres didn't receive any offers that blew them away in order to trade 3B Chase Headley before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, and the Friars are now telling teams they may not be interested in trading him this winter now that they have new owners and the fact that 3B Jedd Gyorko, Headley's heir apparent, has played enough second base in the minors this year to be an option at the keystone eventually in the majors.
