The Boston Red Sox acquired RP Pedro Beato from the New York Mets Thursday, Aug. 16, to complete the trade that sent C Kelly Shoppach to New York. Beato had a 10.38 ERA in 4 1/3 innings over seven outings with the Mets this year.
