NFL | Talks with officials not getting far
The NFL has not made any progress in their talks with NFL Referees Association and there is a chance the regular season starts with the replacement officials. The finances are only part of what the two sides are not able to resolve. The NFL also wants all of the officials to be full-time employees instead of part-time employees. Ninety percent of the officials have full-time jobs and are not willing to let them go. The NFL would also like to add three more officiating crews which would give the regular crew some rest as well as give the league more options for officiating crews.
