Padres | Huston Street placed on DL

The San Diego Padres have placed RP Huston Street (quadriceps) on the 15-day disabled list with a strained quadriceps. In a corresponding move, the team recalled RP Cory Burns from Triple-A Tucson.

Fantasy Tip: Street told the media that he hopes to miss the minimum period of time, but sometimes muscle strains are slow to heal, and so is Street.

Friars manager Bud Black said that he'll probably use Dale Thayer and Luke Gregerson in some combination to close. The skipper's preference for Thayer during Street's first DL stint of 2012 gives him a slight edge, but the right-hander surprised then, so Black stuck with him. The manager will probably do the same here, but only in terms of who gets the job done. Don't dismiss the potential value of Gregerson, whose numbers of late have been stellar and this season overall are better. It's a toss-up, and whoever takes the lead initially is who Black will likely favor. It'll matter for a couple of weeks - or maybe longer.
