Panthers | DeAngelo Williams seeing less carries

Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams had just 155 carries last season, but he averaged 5.4 yards per carry. Williams averaged fewer than 10 carries a game last season – his fewest since 2007; however, head coach Ron Rivera believes the team's multidimensional attack benefits the backfield. "I think our guys realize that what we're doing and the way we do it is good for them, and if it's good for them it's good for the team," Rivera said. "If our guys are getting anywhere between eight and 10 touches, 12 touches, and they're effective, it's great. And what it does, it doesn't wear them (down)."
