Giants | Looking for David Wilson to stand out in preseason games
New York Giants rookie RB David Wilson has impressed the team during training camp and the coaching staff has liked a lot about him. Now he's tasked with doing the same during preseason games. "Practice is one thing, (a) game is another," running backs coach Jerald Ingram said. The Giants are looking for Wilson to add a boost to their running game, which averaged just 89.2 yards per game last season. Even though Wilson has been running fifth on the depth chart during training camp, he figures to be the team's No. 2 running back behind starting tailback Ahmad Bradshaw. Ingram said the team needs Wilson to be able to protect the quarterback and learn to get up the field as fast as he can to take advantage of his speed.
