Brewers | Carlos Gomez makes mechanical tweak
Milwaukee Brewers OF Carlos Gomez has lifted the bat off his shoulder the last few weeks, and he's standing up straighter and adding a leg kick that has helped him sit on pitches and "drive balls more easily out of the ball park." Gomez went 9-for-26 (.346) with 10 RBIs and four home runs in seven games last week. "It seems to be working for him," manager Ron Roenicke said. "When the swing is flat and he's doing it that way, it works. When it's an uppercut and he's doing that, it doesn't work. So sometimes you see from at-bat to at-bat, you'll see a bad one, and then he'll turn around and hit a nice breaking ball like he did last night." Gomez continues to play frequently, and Roenicke said he'll continue to play if he keeps it up.
