Penske Championship Racing | A.J. Allmendinger released
Penske Championship Racing driver A.J. Allmendinger was released Wednesday, Aug. 1, following his suspension last week after a second urine test confirmed that he tested positive for amphetamines.
Fantasy Tip: Sam Hornish Jr. will likely sub in Allmendinger's car for the remainder of the Sprint Cup schedule, but he shouldn't be considered for more than a weak third or fourth driver most weeks. There's a chance Allmendinger will be signed by another team, but the odds aren't great, and the chances it'll be for a team that'll make him remotely fantasy valuable are even worse.
