Angels | Dan Haren dealing with different pain

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Dan Haren (back) said the pain in his back is in a different place than when he was forced to the disabled list. He described it being on his side near his lower rib cage. "Talking to the doctors, they said it was very common for someone with back issues to feel some pulling down there," Haren said. "If you get an inch or two more extension, you're going to get some pull. It doesn't bother me when I twist, but getting it extended, I'm asking it to do a little bit more than it's done in a while." He threw long toss from 200 feet Monday, July 30, and hopes to throw a short bullpen Tuesday, July 31.
