Angels | Vernon Wells, Chris Iannetta close to returning

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Vernon Wells (thumb) and C Chris Iannetta (hand) are close to returning from the disabled list. Wells went 0-for-3 with Triple-A Salt Lake Wednesday, July 25, but is hitting .348 (8-for-23) with two homers, a double and three stolen bases in six minor league rehab games. Iannetta caught a full nine innings and went 1-for-3 Wednesday, and he's hitting .263 (5-for-19) in five rehab games. They are both likely to play for Salt Lake again Thursday, July 26, and both could be activated Friday, July 27.
