Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire held SS Brian Dozier and OF Denard Span out of the lineup Friday, July 20, against the Kansas City Royals and SP Luke Hochevar. Span is a career .136 (6-for-22) hitter against Hochevar, while OF Ben Revere is 4-for-13 (.308) against the Royals starter. Dozier, on the other hand, has no history against Hochevar, but 2B Alexi Casilla (8-for-20) and SS Jamey Carroll (6-for-10) have each had plenty of success against the Kansas City hurler.
