Padres | Edinson Volquez makes history of sorts

San Diego Padres SP Edinson Volquez became the 26th pitcher in franchise history to record a one-hitter Thursday, July 19, against the Houston Astros. It was the first since P Cory Luebke, and former RP Ernesto Frieri (now with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim), combined for a one-hitter last September. It was also the first one-hit shutout at home since former SP Andy Benes accomplished the feat in 1994.
