Marlins | Giancarlo Stanton to play Saturday
Miami Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton (knee) worked out before the game Friday, July 6, and said he will return to the lineup Saturday, July 7, and he'll participate in the All-Star festivities next week. Stanton will need surgery to remove the loose body in his knee, but that isn't expected to happen anytime soon. He could undergo arthroscopic surgery during the season if the team falls too far out of contention. A recovery after surgery would require two to eight weeks, depending on the severity of the swelling.
