Diamondbacks | Trevor Bauer struggles with secondary pitches
Arizona Diamondbacks SP Trevor Bauer was unable to get his secondary pitches over for strikes in his rough outing against the San Diego Padres Tuesday, July 3. Padres hitters seemed to sit on only fastballs after the first inning, and they capitalized. "With the exception of the first two innings in Atlanta, I haven't had exceptional command," Bauer said. "My curveball has been terrible. I don't know if they're going to swing at it or not when I throw it well. I haven't thrown it well yet." Bauer said the groin issues that plagued him in his first start against the Atlanta Braves were not affecting him.
