Tigers | Al Alburquerque nears rehab assignment

Detroit Tigers RP Al Alburquerque (elbow) threw a 35-pitch simulated game in indoor cages at the team's spring training complex Wednesday, June 27, in Florida. He was expected to throw live batting practice, too, but heavy rains from Tropical Storm Debby changed those plans. The team expects him to need at least two batting practice sessions before he is sent out on a minor-league rehab assignment.
