Twins | Denard Span collides with wall

Minnesota Twins OF Denard Span (head) hit the back of his head on the center field wall trying to make a leaping catch Wednesday, June 27, but he was alright and uninjured. Span was removed in the eighth inning as a precaution. "Initially I was shaken up, but I didn't want (Gardenhire) to come all the way out there," Span said. "I was fine to finish the inning; I probably could have finished the game, as well. But the score was kind of out of hand, and he told me he was going to put (Darin) Mastroianni in. I told him that was a good idea to relax and kind of take the rest of the day off."
