Astros | Jordan Schafer sits out opener

Houston Astros OF Jordan Schafer was out of the starting lineup Monday, June 18, against the Kansas City Royals with a left-handed starter (SP Jonathan Sanchez) on the mound. Manager Bradley Mills elected to use OF Justin Maxwell instead. Over the past 13 games, Maxwell has started seven games in CF, while Schafer has started six times. Schafer recently got over an illness which cost him playing time.
