Brewers | Ron Roenicke stands behind John Axford

Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Friday, June 15, that despite recent struggles, RP John Axford (fatigue) is not in jeopardy of losing his job as closer. "I'll talk to (pitching coach) Rick (Kranitz) and see how he's doing," Roenicke said. "If he still feels good, he'll be out there." Roenicke said Axford was not used in a save situation Friday against the Minnesota Twins because he had worked in back-to-back games.
