Royals | Platoon at 2B with Chris Getz

Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost said Tuesday, June 12, that there will be a platoon at second base between 2B Chris Getz (ribcage), who was activated Tuesday, and SS Yuniesky Betancourt. "It improves our defense a little bit. (Getz is) a guy that's a bit of a table-setter for us. He's been swining the bat really well, very solid defender at second base," Yost said. "It gives us the opportunity of having (Betancourt's) bat on the bench if we need it and used in a platoon situation. With the combination of both these guys, we feel like we're covered all the way around the infield."
