Giants | Hakeem Nicks out around 12 weeks for broken foot
New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (foot) fractured the fifth metatarsal of his right foot during organized team activities Thursday, May 24, and is expected to miss around 12 weeks. He is scheduled to undergo surgery Friday, May 24, to repair the fracture.
Fantasy Tip: Nicks will miss most of the offseason and probably some of the early preseason, but he should be close to 100 percent for Week 1. He has chemistry with Eli Manning, so the time off probably won't affect the duo much, if at all. Conditioning in the early season could be a problem; Nicks may be limited for the first few games of the year.
Barring a setback, he should be selected as a strong No. 2 fantasy receiver that has No. 1 potential. You will want to build quality depth at the position to cover your bases. The injury could cause Nicks to slide into a position of great draft value.
