Tigers | Jose Valverde day-to-day
Detroit Tigers RP Jose Valverde (back) is being listed as day-to-day with a strained lower back. He won't be placed on the disabled list for now, and RP Joaquin Benoit will serve as the interim closer until Valverde can return. RP Phil Coke could also see some ninth-inning duties based on matchups or if Benoit needs rest.
