Patriots | Wes Welker still looking for long-term contract
With New England Patriots WR Wes Welker signing his one-year, $9.5 million franchise tender, speculation of whether he will attend the team's mandatory minicamps in June comes to an end. He previously hinted that he may miss the offseason activities if a new deal wasn't in place.
Welker and the Patriots are still able to negotiate a long-term deal, which is what Welker has wanted from the beginning, until July 16.
Welker said he thinks they are al on the same page and are trying collectively to make something happen in regards to a long-term contract.
