Cubs | Paul Maholm hit hard early

Chicago Cubs SP Paul Maholm failed to hit his spots in the first inning of his team debut Tuesday, April 10, against the Milwaukee Brewers. He allowed five runs in the 41-pitch first inning, as the Brewers batted around. He ended up allowing six earned runs, six hits and two walks over four innings in the loss, throwing 45 of his 80 pitches for strikes. Maholm is 1-9 over his past 17 starts against the Brewers.
