Texas Rangers INF Alberto Gonzalez has won the utility job, but he will likely be limited to a backup shortstop role behind SS Elvis Andrus. Gonzalez edged out 2B Anderson Hernandez. The latter is headed to Triple-A Round Rock to play shortstop regularly.
