Angels | More confident in Mark Trumbo

Based on what the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have seen out of 3B Mark Trumbo at third base this spring, they are more confident that he can handle more starts at third base in the regular season. "The test of the season is more difficult than some of the things you might see in the spring. I think with Mark's makeup and with what he's shown with his agility and the ability to make the routine plays that ceiling has definitely moved off that 40-game range to where we're very excited about how many times we're going to have his bat in the lineup at third base. ... I think hopefully we're going to anticipate moving off that minimum level," manager Mike Scioscia said. The team wants INF Maicer Izturis to focus more on playing shortstop and second base this year, but he'll occasionally see time at third base with Trumbo and 3B Alberto Callaspo.
