Rockies | Casey Blake released

The Colorado Rockies released 3B Casey Blake Tuesday, March 27, to avoid paying him $2 million guaranteed this season. The team will have to pay him $500,000 instead. INFs Jordan Pacheco or Chris Nelson will receive the bulk of playing time at third base.
