Tigers | Drew Smyly likes his chances

Detroit Tigers SP Drew Smyly tossed four scoreless innings against the Atlanta Braves in a minor league game Thursday, March 22, giving up two hits, both on broken bats. He walked one and struck out seven as he tries to win the No. 5 rotation spot. Smyly is competing with SPs Andrew Oliver, Duane Below and Adam Wilk. Smyly has a 1.13 ERA in eight innings this spring, which is tops among the four candidates.
