Brewers | Shaun Marcum could be close to pitching in exhibition game
Milwaukee Brewers SP Shaun Marcum (shoulder) threw 30 pitches over two simulated innings Sunday, March 18, and impressed pitching coach Rick Kranitz so much that the next time he throws could be in a Cactus League game. "He was good," Kranitz said. "The good thing about it is that when he went to sit down and got back up to throw, he got loose in eight pitches. Now, it's just a matter of building him up. We'll talk to everybody but as far as I'm concerned, he's that close (to pitching in a game), so that's good." It is still uncertain if Marcum will begin the regular season on the disabled list.
