49ers | Mario Manningham agrees to two-year deal
The San Francisco 49ers signed free-agent WR Mario Manningham (Giants) to a two-year contract Saturday, March 17. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Fantasy Tip: Is Peyton Manning paying attention? The 49ers have added Manningham and brought Randy Moss out of retirement in the last week, turning what was a mediocre wide receiver position into a position of strength.
Manningham can show flashes of brilliance, but has yet to show consistency or durability in the NFL. His best season came in '10, when he posted 60 receptions for 944 yards and nine touchdowns. He'll likely be the team's third receiver, which will limit his potential on a run-oriented team. Should the 49ers land Manning, his value will jump a bit; consider him a mid-range WR4 for the time being.
