Athletics | Daric Barton shut down three days

Oakland Athletics 1B Daric Barton (shoulder) will be shut down for three days after receiving a cortisone shot Monday, March 5. It's unlikely he'll win the starting first base job in time for opening day. 1Bs Chris Carter, Brandon Allen and Kila Ka'aihue are battling it out.
