Saints | Defense had bounty program
The NFL has determined that the New Orleans Saints maintained a bounty program beginning in the 2009 season that involved 22 to 27 players and at least one defensive assistant coach. The league determined former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams administered the program with knowledge of other defensive coaches. The investigation began when the Saints were allegedly targeting former NFL QBs Brett Favre and Kurt Warner. The team could face fines and suspensions for people involved as well as the loss of draft choices.
