Colts | Teams have feelers out for Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis
Several team personnel executives and coaches have phoned Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson and owner Jim Irsay about DLs Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis to inquire about their futures with the team. Mathis is a pending free agent, and the Colts might be hard-pressed to retain Freeney, who is due a $14.035 million base salary with a $19 million-plus salary cap charge. The Colts might reduce Freeney's cap hit with an extension, but he is not believed to be a good fit if the team switches to a 3-4 defensive scheme, and he is reluctant to move to linebacker.
