The Boston Red Sox signed free-agent SP Carlos Silva (Yankees), P Brandon Duckworth (Red Sox), SP Charlie Haeger (Red Sox), SS Pedro Ciriaco (Pirates) and SS Nate Spears (Red Sox) to minor league deals with invites to spring training Tuesday, Jan. 3.
