Reds | Chris Valaika cleared to run, throw

Cincinnati Reds SS Chris Valaika (knee) has been cleared by the team's medical staff to resume running and throwing. Valaika suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a game Sept. 11 against the Colorado Rockies. "It's been a grind. The first part of rehab is slow and pretty monotonous not being able to get outside and feel human," Valaika said. "My offseason is starting and I'm getting myself ready for the season instead of just doing rehab." Valaika has been working out in Arizona with SS Zack Cozart (elbow, ankle), who was cleared for baseball activities earlier this week.
