Free-agent 1B Barbaro Canizares (Braves) is hoping to catch on with a major league team with an invitation to spring training camp. The 32-year-old spent last season with Oaxaca in the Mexican Summer League after being released by the Atlanta Braves April 3. Canizares currently leads the Mexican Pacific League with 15 home runs and 37 RBIs through 38 games, while maintaining a .319 average.
