NCAA | Penn State fires Joe Paterno
The Penn State University board of trustees decided Wednesday, Nov. 9, to fire legendary head football coach Joe Paterno. President Graham Spanier was also let go, effective immediately. Paterno's career ends after 46 years at the helm for the Nittany Lions, and he leaves as the winningest coach in major college football history. The decision to remove Paterno comes after a sexual abuse scandal involving trusted assistant, and former defensive coordinator, Jerry Sandusky.
