Mets | Bobby Parnell could receive some rest

New York Mets manager Terry Collins said over the weekend that RP Bobby Parnell was not in danger of being demoted from the closing duties. The team would like to see if Parnell is worthy for the same role next season. However, after another blown save Tuesday, Sept. 6, Collins will sit down with Parnell, and it appears that save chances could be shared until Parnell works out some kinks. "He's got a great arm and he's got really great stuff. But the bases on balls hurt him. Getting behind in the count hurts him. You saw the first hitter, he went right at him with good fastballs, got ahead of him in the count, and throws him a slider and it's a mismatch. But you've got to be able to get ahead," Collins stated. It's unknown who else Collins would use in a save situation, but RPs Josh Stinson, Manny Acosta, Pedro Beato and Jason Isringhausen are all options. Stinson recorded his first major league save Tuesday.
