Vikings | Bernard Berrian a focal point of the offense?

Minnesota Vikings WR Bernard Berrian needs to resume his role as a deep threat to help take some pressure off WR Percy Harvin working underneath and RB Adrian Peterson in the ground game. Berrian flashed some of that potential on a 49-yard touchdown catch in the team's third preseason game.

"Bernard Berrian is really the guy we like to see be able to do that for us. Michael Jenkins has that kind of capability as well but we're counting on Bernard to be able to make the type of plays he made on that first drive. If that does happen for us, we have a chance to be an explosive offense," head coach Leslie Frazier said. He seems to have chemistry with QB Donovan McNabb, which is something he didn't seem to have with QB Brett Favre.

Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave is making it a point to make sure Berrian isn't forgotten like he was in previous seasons. While there was speculation Berrian may be a salary cap casualty, strong play and a restructured contract appear to make him a lock to make the team's final roster.
