The New England Patriots have placed DL Shaun Ellis (undisclosed) on the Active Physically Unable to Perform list, meaning he isn't able to practice after signing with the team Monday, Aug. 8. He can join practice at any time and counts against the 90-man roster. Ellis is being listed as day-to-day.
