Rams | Steven Jackson wants to play larger role in offense

St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson said he is looking to improve on his pass blocking, running, catching and leadership this season. He said now that he is becoming one of the team's older players, it is a greater responsibility for him to set a good example for the younger players. Jackson feels offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels can help establish Jackson as a franchise, all-around running back. Jackson is looking forward to being used more in the passing game this year, as he wants to prove to the rest of the league that he is more than just a downhill runner. "That's definitely part of my game that I've been missing the last couple of seasons. I'm looking forward to having that challenge," Jackson said. After catching 90 passes in 2006, Jackson has had no more than 50 in any season since.
