Rockies | Rex Brothers settling into set-up role

Colorado Rockies RP Rex Brothers has earned enough trust from manager Jim Tracy to be used in an eighth-inning set-up role, alongside RPs Rafael Betancourt and Matt Lindstrom. Brothers' last six appearances have come in the eighth inning and he has allowed only one run on eight hits over 12 2/3 innings in his last 15 appearances, with 20 strikeouts over that span. The team views him as a potential closer. "The fastball command has been lights out," Tracy said. "The slider is what it is - really, really hard to hit, whether you're standing on the right or left side of the plate. There's no question he can be very, very special."
